Under general supervision, you will work with wide latitude for the exercise of initiative and independent judgment. Your work will be reviewed through conferences and/or reports for conformance to policies and objectives and/or adherence to accepted psychiatric practices and techniques.
As part of your responsibilities, you will conduct regularly scheduled team meetings with physician/psychiatrist colleagues and members of other related services within the healthcare system to discuss and evaluate new admissions, problem cases, and potential discharges or transfers on an individual basis. You will also participate in and contribute to the making of decisions and/or recommendations relative to such patients.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must have a strong understanding of psychiatric principles and practices. You should be able to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. A proven track record of providing high-quality care and treatment is essential.
In addition to your clinical expertise, you should possess excellent organizational and time management skills. You must be able to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. A bachelor's degree in psychology or a related field is required, as well as board certification in psychiatry.
