Responsibilities and Qualifications
As a Custodial Worker, your primary duties will include performing manual tasks related to the cleaning and maintenance of inside areas such as court buildings or other assigned spaces. This will involve sweeping, mopping, scrubbing floors, hallways, restrooms, and stairways; vacuuming, dusting, cleaning furniture, equipment, fixtures, window sills, railings, blinds, and bookshelves; collecting and removing waste paper and trash from offices, rooms, halls, and restrooms; washing walls, windows, doors, mirrors, light fixtures, and drinking fountains; disinfecting toilets, wash bowls, and urinals; and replenishing towels, tissues, soap, and other restroom supplies. You must have the ability to learn safety precautions, methods, materials, and equipment ordinarily used in cleaning buildings, perform various tasks associated with the care and maintenance of buildings, understand and execute instructions, and deal with the public and other employees in a pleasant, courteous manner as required by the position. A completion of the eighth school grade and some experience (three months to six months) in custodial work are required.
