Overview of the Role
The Vice President of Human Resources (VP of HR) is a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for developing and executing the human resource and training strategies that support the overall business plan and strategic direction of the credit union. This role oversees all aspects of human resources, including talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, benefits, performance management, and organizational development, as well as designing and implementing training programs to ensure the growth and development of staff at all levels. The VP of HR will serve as a trusted advisor and advocate for employees while fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.

- Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies, policies, and programs that align with the credit union's mission, vision, and values.
- Lead talent acquisition efforts, including workforce planning, recruiting, onboarding, and retention strategies to attract and retain top talent.
- Oversee employee relations, ensuring a positive and inclusive workplace culture while addressing concerns and resolving conflicts.
- Manage compensation and benefits programs to ensure competitive and equitable offerings.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Drive performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and employee development plans.
- Oversee a comprehensive training program that develops employee skills and leadership capabilities.
- Assess organizational training needs and create strategies to address skill gaps and enhance employee performance.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth through innovative training methods and tools.
- Budget and track department expenses.
- Respond to audit requests and implement changes based on results.
- Responsible for the selection and oversight of HR and training vendors.
