What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rural Affairs Specialist position at GOVERNOR TONY EVERS?
Governor Tony Evers is seeking an energetic, responsible, and passionate individual to join the Governor’s Political Engagement Team as the Rural Affairs Specialist. This position will be based outstate—preferably in central, southwestern, western, or northwestern Wisconsin and report to the Director of Political Engagement and Planning. This is a Project Position funded through December 2026.
The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to work with a variety of diverse groups, businesses, local governmental entities and community leaders. They will be committed to a high level of responsiveness and community engagement.
Job Responsibilities
The Rural Affairs Specialist could be based in any city or town located throughout central, southwestern, western, or northwestern Wisconsin for example: Eau Claire, La Crosse, Bayfield, Superior, or Wausau. Individuals throughout these regions are strongly encouraged to apply. The specialist will attend community events, engage with constituents, and provide guidance to the Governor and his team.
Specific job duties include:
- Build relationships with community members, local governments, and stakeholder groups.
- Partner with state agency staff in the region to improve and expand local connections.
- Attend community events on behalf of the Governor’s Office.

Compensation
- Salary Range: $50,000 - $55,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
