What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Set-Up-Operator Level III position at Governors America Corporation?
GAC is seeking a Set-Up/Operat5or Level III. The individual will work closely with the department supervisor and work to set up new jobs using CNC programs that have been written. This person will recommend improvements to existing job set-ups and programs. They will review improvements to existing and new jobs regarding fixturing and tooling.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Works closely with Design Engineering to develop and fabricate engineering prototypes required to meet customer demand.
Designs and develops/fabricates production tooling, fixtures and gages to support operations.
Perform first-time set-up for production manufacturing.
Requisitions material required to meet prototype development goals.
Examines items produced to determine if items meet specifications.
Studies blueprints and determines the proper processing to manufacture prototype designs.
Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet prototype requirements.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop.
Analyzes and resolves work problems.
Sets up machines and equipment.
Assist with training of other team members including company procedures and other activities to extend their capabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
7 years minimum experience working with running and setting up both CNC lathes and Machining Centers in machine shop operations. Knowledge of CAD/CAM systems and CNC programming helpful. Understanding of CMM reports preferred.

The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk and sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
