Job Description: Construction Laborer – Waterline and Excavation Project
Position: Construction Laborer
Location: Los Alamos National Laboratory

Reports To: Foreman/Supervisor
Job Summary
We are seeking a hardworking and dependable Construction Laborer to join our team on a waterline and excavation project. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of tasks to support the installation of waterlines and related excavation work, ensuring the project is completed safely, efficiently, and to specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation, repair, and replacement of waterlines and related infrastructure.
- Perform manual labor such as digging, trenching, backfilling, and grading.
- Operate hand and power tools, such as shovels, picks, compactors, and jackhammers.
- Prepare job sites by clearing debris, unloading materials, and setting up equipment.
- Follow instructions from supervisors to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials and supplies.
- Assist equipment operators and other crew members as needed.
- Identify and report potential hazards or issues to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety standards and protocols.
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Previous experience in construction or waterline projects is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with basic construction tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, blueprints, and project plans.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks in various weather conditions.
- Knowledge of safety practices and willingness to comply with all safety regulations.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, standing, and working in confined spaces.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Work Environment
- Outdoor job sites with exposure to dirt, dust, and noise.
