The company offers RoHS-compliant products as well as lead-containing components for QPL military/defense and other demanding requirements. Non-magnetic inductors are also available for situations where magnetic components would compromise system performance, as in medical imaging (MRI) equipment.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Product Manager
Reports to: General Manager
Pay range: $110,000 to $140,000
Department: Engineering
FLSA Status: Exempt
SUMMARY
The Product Manager will be responsible for driving growth for Gowanda Electronics product offerings, leveraging deep understanding of the product capabilities and differentiators, applications, end customers, and the competitive landscape. Drives Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), from ideation through post-launch support and end-of-life considerations, ensuring products meet customer needs and market demands. Collaborates with cross-functional teams, serving as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Gowanda Electronics portfolio of products and services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works closely with the Director of Sales to optimize market share and selling strategies.
- Collaborates extensively with Regional Sales Managers, Manufacturer representatives, and end Customers to increase visibility and technical knowledge of the differentiated capabilities of Gowanda products.
- Participates in product development, strategy, and redesign from initial concept through engineering development and manufacturing introductions, to market launch.
- Conducts market research and solicits customer feedback to identify potential for new products; generates requirements and specifications, develops marketing strategies, production launch schedules, and pricing, and works with Marketing on promotional content.
- Reviews new product requests from Sales and Customers, prepares return-on-investment analyses, value propositions, evaluates broader market potential and development priorities.
- Determines product pricing utilizing competitive market research, reviewing production and sales costs, anticipating volume, and considering the overall value proposition for the customer.
- Creates buy-in and alignment for the product roadmap, both internally and externally.
- Provides management with updates related to both short- and long-term product sales forecasts, new product market potential, and special reports or analysis as required.
- Collaborates with Engineering teams to optimize time-to-market schedules.
- Identifies and manages existing and potential for new product development partnerships.
- Leads product training for outside sales, internal customer support stakeholders, and customers.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and content, and participating in professional societies.
- 50% travel expected, typically involving 1 full business week at a time. Occasional international travel may be required.

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Business with 5 years of product manager experience in magnetic components and radio frequency filters.
