Job Brief

Our client is rapidly growing and seeking both an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) and a Professional Engineer (PE) with expertise in municipal water / wastewater project design. These are direct-hire positions offering competitive compensation, excellent benefits, and significant career growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

For EIT

  • Assist in generating project deliverables, including plan design, production, and specifications for water / wastewater treatment systems.
  • Develop design plans, specifications, and reports for municipal water / wastewater infrastructure projects such as treatment plants, pump stations, storage facilities, and transmission / distribution systems.

For PE

  • Assist in maintaining project schedules and budgets, providing updates as needed.
  • Support the Project Manager with construction administration tasks, including submittals, contracts, and bidding.
  • Oversee and supervise internal staff (EITs, drafters) and external stakeholders (subcontractors, inspectors) to ensure efficient project completion.

    • Qualifications

    Must-Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • PE certification is required for the PE role; EIT certification is required for the EIT role.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in municipal water / wastewater design for EIT; minimum of 5 years for PE.
  • Strong experience in the design and development of construction plans, submittals, pay applications, and contracts.
  • Proficiency in relevant software such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, WaterCAD, ArcGIS, or other hydraulic modelling tools.
  • Experience in designing water / wastewater infrastructure, including collection and distribution systems.
  • Highly organized, and detail-oriented, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

    • Nice to Have

  • Experience in drainage design and calculations.
  • Familiarity with project management and permitting processes.
  • Previous experience working with Municipal Utility Districts (MUDs) in Texas.
