POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general direction of the National Sales Manager and Aerospace Program Manager, The Associate Program Manager is responsible for supporting the Aerospace Program manager.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports Aerospace Program Manager (APM) as needed.
- In conjunction with sales and APM, interfaces with customers to validate customer needs and assists with product selection utilizing knowledge of engineering specifications and catalog resources.
- Reviews and validates all related specifications for each project.
- Interfaces with engineering to ensure all specifications can be met.
- Reviews all Terms and Conditions for each project to ensure company can meet these.
- Prepares formal proposals /quotations to customers specifications.
- Attends, initiates any tag up meetings or communication with customer.
- Attends, initiates any design review or project kick off meetings.
- Interfaces with engineers and customers to ensure all drawings and documentation are completed and correct.
- Resolves customer issues and problems related to projects.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION AND/ OR EXPERIENCE:
A 2-year technical degree and 3-5 years sales or project management experience in a technical or engineering environment.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Technical aptitude.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Basic trouble shooting skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to work in engineering and production environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None
EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:
Personal computers (Microsoft Products, MS Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, CRM and MRP). General office equipment (fax machine, copier).
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to sit at a desk for approximately 7-8 hours per day.
- Requires occasional exposure to production environment including machine shop.
- May require occasional travel attending exhibition or customer visit.
TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to perform basic algebraic equations.
- Must be able to understand basic electrical or process schematics.
- Must be able to understand basic mechanical drawings.
- Must be able to read, interpret and offer changes to customer specifications and terms and conditions contracts.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting.
