INDUSTRIAL ASSEMBLY TECHNICIAN I:

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under general direction from the Industrial Assembly Lead, the Industrial Assembly Technician I is responsible for the assembly/ construction of can assembles for standard Industrial transducers (including #270/370 series units when needed).

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assembles/constructs can assemblies for standard Industrial transducers.
• Reads and implements data sheets, manuals, work instructions, and procedures.
• Builds both electronic and mechanical modules for the required order (s)/product line (s).
• Wires and adds compensation resistors to transducers (as required/needed).
• Verifies acceptability of product using proper calculations.
• Maintains accurate order costing and labor tracking using INFOR software system.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education and/or Experience:

• High School Diploma/ GED (required)

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Ability to read and comprehend simple diagrams and related drawings.
• Ability to understand basic operation of signal conditioners.
• Ability to complete tasks as directed per shop travelers/ work instructions.
• Ability to verify acceptable quality of all work as required.
• Ability to maintain records in a organized, orderly fashion.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTIES:

• None

EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:

Soldering iron; displacement soldering machine; simple equipment for testing and measurement, such as multi-meter; Fluke meter; megohm meter; personal computer/tablet may be necessary.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Light w/performance of non-strenuous daily activity of a productive/technical nature.

• Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate small hand tools and handle small parts.
• Must be able to stand, walk or sit 1/3 to 2/3 of the time.
• Must be able to stoop, kneel or crouch < 1/3 of the time.
• Must be able to reach with hands and arms.
• Must be able to lift weight/exert force up to 10 lbs. on occasion as necessary.

Vision Requirements:

• Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
• Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)

TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to do simple math calculations.
• Must be able to collect data, establish facts from data collected and draw conclusions.
• Must be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and be able to resent overall findings while dealing with both abstract and concrete variables.

• Must be able to read, interpret, and implement work instructions written in English.
• Must be able to effectively compose routine reports and correspondence and be able to communicate results found effectively to groups or management or other employees.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor shop environment with adequate ventilation.
• Minimal (<1/3 of time) w/ exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
• Minimal (<1/3 of time) working near moving mechanical parts.
• Moderate noise level
• Must be able to work overtime on occasions when special production demands are necessitated.
