What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Operator/Foreman position at GP Wright Construction Company, LLC?
Seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operator - able to do finish grade on a D6T CAT operate a Kubota SVL95 Skid Steer, excavator and motor grader. We have all types heavy equipment but these are primary for this position. Experience in quoting projects re: pad sites, excavation, erosion control/retaining walls, demolition, etc. Good communication skills/customer relations a plus.
We are a privately owned small business maintaining all our own equipment. Candidate needs to be familiar w/ chaining equipment for hauling and have some mechanical knowledge in case of maintenance and/or breakdowns on project.
Our projects are generally located within a one hour radius of our headquarters so candidate would want to live nearby or consider relocating here to the Whitney, Tx area as we do not offer per diem.

Summary
As a Heavy Equipment Operator/Foreman, you will oversee the operation of various heavy machinery, including excavators, loaders, and dump trucks, on construction sites. Reporting to the project manager, your role is vital in ensuring efficient and safe operations while adhering to project timelines. Your core skills in heavy equipment operation and mechanical knowledge will be essential in executing heavy haul tasks. Additionally, your experience with dozers, backhoe, skid steer and grader operations will enhance the team's productivity and contribute to the successful completion of projects.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, and backhoes, skid steers on construction sites.
- Ensure the safe and efficient movement of materials using above mentioned heavy equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and mechanical checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Supervise and coordinate activities of crew members, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and site progress.
- Utilize commercial driving skills to transport heavy loads as required.
- Communicate with customer/client from beginning/quoting process throughout project til job is complete. Communicate w/vendors when materials/product needed on project.
