CNC Operator Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in operating CNC machines in a manufacturing facility.

This role is essential for ensuring the production of high-quality components while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities - Set up and operate CNC machines according to specifications and production schedules. - Interpret technical drawings and CAD files to produce precise parts.

• Conduct quality control checks throughout the production process to ensure adherence to specifications. - Utilize GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles for accurate measurements.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and improve efficiency. - Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety protocols.

Requirements -

• Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
• Plans stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; anticipating needed stock; placing and expediting orders for stock; verifying receipt of stock.
• Configure mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches;

calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.

• Loads machine with work pieces.
• Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces
• Maintains specifications by observing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes;

editing programs; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.

• Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
• Meets production goals in terms of cycle time, quantity, and quality.
• need someone who is experienced in G code programming, No specific software

They should also have experience working with stainless steel and carbon stainless steel

They should be experienced in making tooling changes, Troubleshooting and making adjustments on the fly

We would like to see experience with chuck work, Understanding the type of chuck to use, workpiece alignment, Toolpath Planning, Balancing speed and feed, Part Off and safety procedures
