What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at GPAC?
Gpac is currently partnered with a growing agriculture business that is seeking a Controller.
The Controller will play a crucial role in supporting the GM and the accounting team by overseeing the operations, processes, and controls related to the organization's financial management. This position involves maintaining the chart of accounts, general ledger, and financial statements, while also assisting with various administrative functions to ensure an effective office environment. The Controller will analyze financial data, manage inventory, and provide recommendations to enhance financial performance across all divisions of the company.
Responsibilities
- Assist in consolidating and analyzing financial data and budgets.
- Conduct profit analysis by division, utilizing analytics of incoming ingredient pricing, transportation, production, and labor costs.
- Analyze the business pricing structure using cost-based analysis through various accounting projects and tasks.
- Maintain up-to-date financial records, prepare reports and reconciliations, and manage inventory.
- Provide recommendations to Senior Leadership based on financial analysis.
- Consult with management to offer alternative recommendations to improve financial performance.
- Support other divisions with workloads during high-demand periods or busy seasons.
- Manage and assist with the processing of monthly and year-end reports, reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Establish and manage control practices to ensure proper use and protection of company resources.
- Manage the accounting of capital assets and budgets.
