Estimator – Heavy / Highway
We are seeking an Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates for heavy / highway construction projects. The Estimator will work closely with the Senior Project Manager and Operations Manager to ensure bids are precise, compliant, and aligned with company goals. The role includes cost analysis, subcontractor coordination, and project budgeting.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop detailed estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors based on project specs and drawings.
- Collaborate with Senior Project Manager and Operations Manager to finalize bids and conduct final review with the President before submission.
- Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analysis to adjust estimates for scope changes.
- Assist in developing project budgets and ensure cost control throughout the project.
- Provide cost reports and forecasts to project management.
- Track and ensure compliance with DBE participation and self-perform requirements.
- Actively seek new project opportunities to expand the project pipeline.
- Maintain vendor and customer databases for future projects.
- Meet performance goals by securing a set amount of awarded work annually.
