Grain Merchandiser Key Responsibilities
- Monitor domestic and global grain markets to guide strategic buying and selling decisions.
- Source grain through supplier relationships and negotiate competitive contracts.
- Manage risk and price volatility using hedging tools and financial strategies.
- Oversee inventory, storage, and logistics to ensure efficient grain movement.
- Maintain strong relationships with buyers and end-users to support tailored service.
- Draft and execute compliant purchase and sales contracts.
- Analyze market data to forecast trends and inform trading decisions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of trades.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory and compliance standards.
- Generate timely reports on trading activity, market conditions, and performance.
- 2-4 years of direct experience in grain merchandising or commodity trading (required)
- Bachelor's degree in Ag Economics, Business, Finance, or related discipline
- Strong grasp of commodity markets, trading principles, and price risk management
- Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Analytical thinker with high attention to detail
- Tech-savvy with proficiency in trading platforms, Excel, and market analysis tools
