Position Summary :
GPAC is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team and play a critical role in designing, developing, and optimizing components and fixturing for precision machining. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, CAD modeling, and manufacturing processes, with a focus on CNC machining.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and Develop mechanical components, tooling, and fixturing to support CNC machining and manufacturing processes.
- Create Detailed CAD Models & Drawings using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar software, ensuring manufacturability and adherence to GD&T standards.
- Optimize Designs for Machining Efficiency by considering material selection, tooling, and setup requirements to reduce cycle times and costs.
- Collaborate with Machinists & Engineers to refine designs, troubleshoot production issues, and improve manufacturability.
- Support New Product Development (NPD) by creating prototype designs, testing, and iterating based on real-world machining feedback.
- Perform Engineering Calculations related to stress analysis, tolerances, and material properties to ensure component integrity and functionality.
- Work with Vendors & Suppliers to source materials and components, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Maintain Technical Documentation including design specifications, BOMs, revision histories, and process improvements.
