JOB DESCRIPTION
We are partnered with a general contractor specializing in structural steel construction who is looking to add to their Quality Control department. If you are looking for a career change and have an interest in the construction or manufacturing industry, you'll want to take a closer look at this opportunity. QC has specific responsibilities tailored to ensure the quality and safety of fabricated steel structures.
Quality Control Responsibilities :
- Oversee and ensure adherence to AWS and AISC and other relevant standards during the fabrication process
- Conducting regular audits of the fabrication process to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with established quality control procedures
Implementing and monitoring welding procedures to ensure proper weld quality, including inspections, testing, and documentation
Overseeing visual inspections and non-destructive testing methods (e.g., ultrasonic, magnetic particle, dye penetrant) to detect defects or imperfections in welded joints and steel components
Enforcing adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the fabrication process to maintain a safe work environment for all personnel
Quality Control Qualifications :
Ability to read and understand fabrication and construction drawings
Welding experience and certifications ( D1.1 and / or D1.5 )
Understanding of AISC and AWS standards
Certified Welding Inspector preferred
