Job Title: Commercial Underwriting Counsel (Attorney)

Location: Florida (Remote with occasional travel to Orlando/Maitland office)

Salary Significant Bonus Potential

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Underwriting Counsel (Attorney) to join our team in Florida. This role requires prior commercial underwriting experience-candidates with only residential experience will not be considered. The attorney in this position will provide expert counsel on high-value commercial transactions, assess risk, and support title agents and examiners. Additionally, this counsel will have the opportunity to lead training seminars, webinars, and engage with agents.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide counsel on complex commercial transactions across Florida.
• Analyze and assess risk for title insurance policies, including condominium developments and construction lien risk.
• Collaborate with title agents and examiners to resolve underwriting issues with a solution-focused approach.
• Deliver training seminars and webinars to title professionals.
• Maintain exceptional customer service and build strong relationships with title agents.
• Work closely with other underwriting counsel in a team-oriented environment.
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience as a commercial underwriting attorney or equivalent experience.
• Must be licensed to practice law in Florida or eligible to register as Authorized House Counsel within 90 days.
• Experience with large commercial transactions, including condominium developments and construction liens, is preferred.
• Prior experience in a national business unit or national commercial services office is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Remote (comfort of your own home or own office setting)
• Occasional travel to the Orlando/Maitland office for collaboration with underwriting counsel and teams.
