GPD is currently seeking a Hydrologic and Hydraulic Modeling Engineer in our Louisville, Kentucky office. We work directly with the communities we serve for water distribution, wastewater collection, stormwater, Water/wastewater treatment systems, green infrastructure, environmental regulatory programs, and FEMA public assistance and disaster response,
Day-to-Day Job Responsibilities:
- Hydrology and Hydraulic analysis and modeling for bridges, large culverts, stream restoration, water, wastewater, and stormwater projects
- Working with communities on environmental regulatory program implementation and stormwater permitting
- Bridge scour analysis and bank stabilization design
- Supporting the team in other civil engineering design projects
- Other job duties as assigned
Key Skills/Experience that will drive success in this role:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- 3 - 7 years’ experience in a civil design role.
- Knowledge of and interest in:
- Hydrology and Hydraulics
- Water Distribution, Wastewater Collection and Treatment systems analysis
- Asset management and pipeline design hydraulics,
- Inspection, condition assessment, and proper repair/rehabilitation design Riverine and built water conveyance system modeling
- Stream restoration
- Dams and levees
- Floodplain analysis
- Ability to comprehend and interpret codes
- Ability to effectively read and understand construction drawings
- Ability to effectively assist in developing estimates and budgets
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information
- Ability to multi-task
- Desire to work both in the field and office
- Willingness to travel
- Valid driver’s license required
