Plumbing Department Lead

GPI is seeking a Senior Plumbing Engineer/Designer Lead for an immediate opening in our Metro NY offices in Suffern, NY. You will have the opportunity to work on various projects.

Responsibilities:

• Perform plumbing system design calculations
• Prepare contract drawings and specifications detailing the designed systems
• Select equipment for use in building systems
• Knowledge of plumbing code(s) and applicable NFPA codes within the industry
• Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines/companies
• Attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish their needs and discuss design issues
• Incorporate sustainable design methods in buildings
• Report writing/specification preparation

Qualifications:

• Associates Degree in engineering/science or a related discipline
• 10 years’ experience
• AutoCAD and Revit MEP proficiency required
• Certified Plumbing Designer (CPD), and LEED AP preferred
• Proven ability to design and draft, and general computer knowledge is a must
