Position Description –
The Order Management/Processing Manager position is responsible for managing the Order Processing department. Responsibilities include but are not limited to leading, training, and managing the Order Processing staff with the focus of processing customer purchase orders and managing the lifecycle of orders through shipment and invoicing. The position is responsible for making decisions and implementing processes to improve both the effectiveness and efficiency of the department. This position requires a strong customer service focus, the ability to promptly resolve business issues, and the aptitude to evaluate data effectively. This position is critical to maintaining and expanding relationships with our customers and business partners. The Order Processing Manager communicates with all internal departments while simultaneously working with outside resources to provide timely updates to our customers.
Qualifications –
The ideal candidate for the position shall have:
Education:
- High School degree, BA degree with business emphasis preferred
- Directly applicable experience in a similar role with more than four years of experience

Responsibilities –
- Manage day to day operations of the Order Processing department, including all aspects of order processing
- Order product(s) from appropriate vendor(s)
- Create customer sales orders
- Acknowledge customers and GPM sales personnel of expected delivery dates
- Manage open orders weekly to ensure delivery dates are met
- Research and answer post order customer requests i.e. shipping status, receiving and invoicing issues
- Prepare invoices and shipping documents
- Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time, and in the event of problems trace shipments and follow up undelivered goods
- Administrative and financial duties including customer accounts receivable
- Hire, train, and manage the staff
- Maintain the department’s high level of customer service
- Coordinate department projects to meet deadlines
- Constantly identify and implement process improvement initiatives
- Manage a growing team with varying office locations
- Monitor and develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate departmental and individual performance
- Form, build, and maintain relationships with GPM salespeople, customers, and vendors
- Various other duties as they are required in a dynamic business environment
Reporting –
The Order Processing Manager position reports directly to the CFO.
Conditions –
Works in an office environment. Occasional travel for training or work at other GPM facilities. 40-hour work week, varying start time, with occasional work outside office hours. Occasional evening or weekend time may be necessary.

Duluth, MN. Office.
