We're looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our dynamic team. As the sole accountant at our growing startup, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring our financial health by overseeing all company-related transactions, preparing timely and accurate financial statements, and managing tax filings. You'll collaborate with leadership to develop budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans that align with our mission, "Unearthing the Future of Autonomy."

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all company-related transactions, including reconciliation of accounts and preparation of timely and accurate financial statements.
Manage sales and payroll tax filings, and collaborate with the CPA firm on income tax matters.
Develop and manage budgets to ensure financial health and resource allocation align with company goals.
Create financial forecasts to assist leadership with strategic decision-making and long-term planning.
Monitor and report on cash flow to maintain sufficient working capital for operations.
Lead audits and ensure they are completed promptly with quality results.
Implement and optimize accounting processes and advise on best practices.
Develop accurate financial records and models in collaboration with finance personnel.
Maintain accounts receivable/payable, process accruals and prepaid expenses, and manage vendor records.
Audit payroll for accuracy and support budgeting efforts.
Produce periodical financial reports to customers, vendors, partners and investors.
Support the commercial team with producing estimates, invoices and collections.
Stay updated on relevant regulations and document policies and procedures to support company growth.
Anticipate business needs and assist with special projects as required.
Job requirements
Qualifications:
Proficiency in accounting software and bookkeeping programs such as QuickBooks Online.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Minimum of two years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial modeling.
Strong attention to detail.
Knowledge of relevant tax laws in accordance with the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Bachelor s degree required; concentration in accounting or finance preferred.
Knowledge of GAAP, accounting theory, principles, and practices.
Ability to describe accounting systems and processes in written correspondence and in procedure manual format.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and knowledge of computer information systems to present financial information.
Strong priority management skills.
Ability to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Skills:
Previous experience in a startup environment working as the sole accountant.
CPA candidate preferred.
