Essential Duties
Training Program Development:
- Design and develop role-based training programs that support the workflows to be implemented.
- Lead the development of training materials, including e-Learning modules, instructor-led training guides, and reference materials.
- Prepare training scenarios and set up the Epic Training system for hands-on training, including creating simulated patients for realistic practice.
- Master the assigned Epic application as well as Riverside-specific workflows, processes, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in workflow design and system build sessions to gain in-depth knowledge of system functionality and workflow design rationale.
- Obtain and maintain Epic certification in the assigned application module, ensuring continuous knowledge of new updates and functionalities.
- Coordinate training logistics, including scheduling courses, managing classroom availability, and organizing registration in collaboration with the project team and department managers.
- Train end-users, including clinical and non-clinical staff, on Epic system workflows, ensuring that all employees are equipped to use the system efficiently.
- Train newly-hired employees as part of their orientation and provide ongoing training for system updates and new releases.
- Develop and maintain the training environment to align with the overall training strategy and approach.
- Update training scenarios, training patients, and other environment settings as necessary to keep training relevant and consistent with the live Epic system.
- Provide demonstrations of system functionality to staff, project stakeholders, and leaders as needed.
- Serve as a subject matter expert during training sessions, troubleshooting any questions related to system use, workflow, or process.
- Train and supervise Supplemental Trainers, ensuring consistency and quality in training delivery.
- Maintain system documentation, ensuring training materials and guides reflect the current system environment.
- Coordinate and deliver end-user training for new Epic releases, keeping users informed about system changes and enhancements.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as preparing handouts and supporting materials for training sessions.
- Participate in meetings with application workgroups, providing input on training needs during workflow changes or system updates.
- Assist in developing project communication materials related to system training and end-user readiness.
- Assist in updating internal documentation and procedures related to the Epic system for different department workflows.
Required Experience
- Proven experience working as a user of a clinical or operational software application.
- Ability to develop training materials, including e-Learning modules, required.
- Ability to coordinate training logistics effectively, including managing course schedules and resources.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences in training.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a project team and independently manage training programs.
- Organizational skills to manage training schedules, participant records, and course materials.
- Familiarity with Riverside Medical Center workflows, processes, policies, and procedures is preferred.
- Education in a healthcare related field
- Willingness to obtain and maintain Epic certification in the assigned application module,
- If a Registered Nurse (RN), must have completed a nursing program from an approved school of nursing.
