Live-In Caregiver Needed for Elderly Woman with Vision Loss & Dementia (Oakland, CA)
I am seeking a compassionate and experienced live-in caregiver for my 89-year-old aunt, who is nearly blind, has some dementia, limited mobility due to a recent fall, and requires colostomy care.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and fall prevention
- Provide personal care (bathing, dressing, hygiene)
- Manage colostomy care and monitor overall health
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding, if needed
- Light housekeeping and laundry
- Provide companionship and cognitive engagement
- Administer medications and accompany to doctor appointments
Requirements:
- Experience with dementia care and vision impairment
- Knowledge of colostomy care (or willingness to learn)
- Patient, reliable, and physically capable of assisting with mobility
- Must pass a background check and provide references
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) preferred
Compensation & Benefits:
- Live-in salary (negotiable based on experience)
