ABOUT THE POSITION

The ETF business is a new development for GQG. Successful candidates must show a strong desire to lead, get involved, drive change, and develop new and structured processes and capabilities.

 

In the dynamic and rapidly evolving world of exchange-traded funds (ETFs), the ETF Capital Markets Specialist plays a critical role in supporting our active ETF offerings. This position requires a deep understanding of capital markets functions, particularly as they relate to ETFs, and involves close collaboration with various stakeholders. The Specialist will act as a liaison between GQG and our ETF provider, ensuring seamless communication and coordination. Furthermore, in this role, continuous, effective, and direct interaction with Authorized Participants (APs) and Lead Market Makers to facilitate all ETF related activities will be critical.

 

The Specialist will take on a critical role in the ETF unit creation and redemption process, ensuring that all related business and operational processes are efficiently and effectively supported. This includes managing the intricacies of portfolio composition files, reconciliations, and data management requirements. Additionally, the maintenance of custom baskets, tax lot optimization, and general coordination and communication with third parties to ensure compliance and operational excellence will also be part of this role. The role demands proactive problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Entrepreneurial spirit and enthusiasm for data, relationships, analytics as well as launching new products and supporting their success is critical. The ability to multi-task, pivot, and manage both internal and external client facing relationships will be important.

 

For an application to be considered, it will be a requirement for a candidate to have had prior experience supporting an (active) ETF business at either an Investment Manager, ETF Provider, AP, or large financial institution. Additionally having active Series 7 and Series 63 licenses will also be a requirement for consideration.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the primary point of contact between GQG and the ETF provider.
  • Daily monitoring of trading quality, volumes, and spreads. Ensuring liquidity of the firm’s ETFs in the secondary market.
  • Manage and coordinate internal and external relationships. Including, Authorized Participants (APs), Lead Market Makers, Exchanges, GQG Portfolio Management, Trading, Fund and Investment Operations, Compliance, and other third-party technology and data vendors.
  • Responsible for GQG leadership and support of key business processes, including PCF, NAV, Order Management, Creation and Redemption Processes. Ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency while balancing risks.
  • Managing and addressing key communication processes involved in the primary and secondary ETF market activities, including providing execution advice, large order handling, creation of custom baskets as well as tracking opportunities for tax optimization transactions.
  • Participate in and contribute to the ETF product development and design effort at GQG incorporating capital markets and testing or pre-launch considerations into the successful launch of new funds.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 3 years of experience supporting an existing active ETF business at an Investment Manager, ETF Provider, AP or large Financial Institution.
  • Active Series 7 and Series 63 licenses are required.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with operational processes supporting ETFs, including portfolio composition files, NAV, order taking and processing, custom baskets, creation/redemption processing, and tax lot optimization.
  • Direct experience in ETF Capital markets and equity asset class, ideally with strong relationships in the ETF Capital Markets ecosystem.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively internally with various related functions and externally with third parties, including APs and Lead Market Makers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including exceptional attention to detail and a structured, deliberate, and methodical approach to work and fulfilling responsibilities.
  • Strong technical and data skills that can be applied toward Unit Creation / Redemption process as well as troubleshooting processes that are critical to the ETF business.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail and while maintaining clear and concise communication.
