Calibration (Lab) Technician
Grand Rapids, MI
Full Time | $26 or more depending on experience
Join a as a Calibration (Lab) Technician servicing our Michigan-customer's precision measurement needs! This autonomous role will utilize core disciplines, technical expertise, and excellent customer service to deliver measurement solutions to our dedicated customers.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare for offsite work by reviewing equipment lists, procedures, specifications, and ensuring proper standards are selected for work
- Perform in-shop and offsite calibrations, installations, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting & repair on equipment within the disciplines of torque, temperature, pressure, dimension, mechanics, thermodynamics, electronics and more
- Ensure company tools and equipment are in working order and handled with integrity
- Timely and accurately document test and calibration data within GR Metrology's proprietary software system, following ISO/A2LA quality standards
- Approach daily customer interactions as the "subject matter experts" relaying equipment status, repair needs, and potential improvements
- Collaborate with team members on customer needs, technical assistance, and enhancements
- Operate company equipment including forklifts, testing units, and service trucks
- Perform work in-shop at GR Lab and to Michigan- customer sites, occasional overnights (3-5%)
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Two (2) plus years of calibration experience with knowledge and application of ISO 17025
- Strong understanding of industrial, mechanical, and process equipment
- Strong understanding of precision measurement equipment, calibration program management, and measurement principles preferred
- Maintain valid drivers license and satisfactory MVR
- Superior interpersonal communication skills both orally and written
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft applications
- Able to repetitively lift and carry 50lb weights
- Able to stand, walk, stoop, and bend at 4 hour increments
