Duties
- Provide personal care assistance to individuals in their homes or residential facilities
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Support individuals in maintaining their independence and respecting their rights as residents
- Monitor vital signs and report any abnormalities or changes in health status
- Provide first aid and emergency response as needed
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote a safe and supportive environment
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and social workers to ensure the well-being of individuals
Requirements
- Previous experience in home care or a related field is preferred
- Knowledge of resident rights and regulations governing personal care assistance
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to clients' homes or facilities
- Proficiency in taking vital signs and documenting health information
- First aid certification is required
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work independently and follow care plans accurately
- Understanding of behavior management techniques and strategies
