SUMMARY Directs, administers and coordinates the daily activities of the Manager’s duties as outlined in the Management Agreement between Brethren Home Management Services (BHMS) and Grace Brethren Village (GBV) in support of policies, goals, and objectives established by Grace Brethren Village Constitution and Bylaws, including the Statement of Faith contained therein, except as otherwise required by applicable law. Acts as the Licensed Nursing Home Administrator. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Directs the preparation of short-term departmental goals and participates in the development of organizational goals and objectives.
- Oversees directors and supervisors relating to direct departmental activities that implement GBV organizational policies.
- Assists in the implementation of departmental programs that meet corporate goals and objectives.
- Creates innovative ways to gain employee commitment to the organization’s mission and vision. Educates staff and models excellent customer service.
- Participates in the preparation of the annual budget and monitors the budget in various areas such as census, FTE’s and supplies.
- Creates the structure and processes necessary to manage reporting department organizations' current activities and projected growth.
- Maintains a sound plan of departmental organization, establishing processes to ensure adequate development and management succession.
- Develops and installs procedures and controls to promote communication and adequate information flow within departmental organizations.
- Evaluates the results of reporting GBV operations regularly and systematically and reports these results to the Vice President & CAO.
- Ensures that the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood.
- Ensures that all reporting organization’s activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state and federal regulations and laws governing business operations.
- Directs and controls assigned operations and information to maintain sound privacy and security practices and prevent privacy or security breaches. If a breach occurs, takes corrective action.
- Attends workshops and seminars to keep updated on changes in long-term care.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Manages the day-to-day operational responsibilities of GBV as outlined in the management agreement, which includes the management of GBV department directors and supervisors who supervise GBV employees. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems as outlined by Manager’s duties through the management agreement.
