What are the responsibilities and job description for the Choir Director/Pianist position at Grace-Calvary Episcopal Church?
Grace-Calvary is hiring a part-time musician to lead worship by playing the organ, piano, and/or keyboard during Sunday services each week and on other occasions. This position requires 5-10 hours a week (at least 4 on-site) including planning, practice, one evening rehearsal with the choir, and Sunday morning services at 10:00 am. Musician will work in collaboration with the Priest-in-Charge.
Our ideal candidate will have experience with Episcopal worship and liturgy and choir direction. Familiarity with church hymnody and contemporary worship music is preferred.
Availability on special occasions such as Christmas Eve, Holy Week and Easter, funerals and weddings, or arrangements for substitutions is required and will provide additional compensation.
Grace-Calvary is the second oldest Episcopal Church building in Georgia and home of the oldest working pipe organ in Georgia, built by Henry Erben of New York City in 1848.
