About GRACE Cancer Foundation: The GRACE Cancer Foundation provides essential support to cancer patients and their families during and after treatment. Through financial assistance, emotional support, and survivorship programs, we empower individuals to navigate the challenges of cancer with dignity and hope.
Position Overview The Development Director will lead efforts to advance the mission of GRACE Cancer Foundation by driving fundraising initiatives, expanding donor relationships, and enhancing community presence in the Tri-Cities with an emphasis in the Kearney area expansion. This individual will build strategic partnerships, foster stakeholder relations, and create sustainable revenue streams to support the foundation's programs.
Key Responsibilities Fundraising & Donor Relations Cultivate and manage relationships with donors to secure financial contributions. Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising plans and partnerships. Organize donor engagement activities, including events, outreach campaigns, and recognition programs. Oversee donor communications, ensuring timely responses to inquiries and acknowledgments. Manage donor acknowledgment processes, including annual, first-time, lapsed, and monthly donors. Assist with event logistics as needed including, but not limited to: securing auction items, ordering event materials, and securing sponsors and logos. Identify and implement innovative fundraising trends and activities to drive year-over-year revenue growth.
Networking & Community Engagement Represent the foundation at community events, forums, and gatherings. Build strong connections with community leaders, businesses, and stakeholders. Identify opportunities to showcase GRACE through participation in existing community events or by implementing new events (e.g., hosting butterfly releases or annual golf tournaments). Recruit and manage a network of ambassadors and volunteers to promote GRACE’s mission. Foster relationships with staff, volunteers, families, and board members to enhance community presence.
Strategic Planning & Administration Contribute to strategic planning, reporting, and donor activity management. Monitor and implement innovative fundraising trends and best practices. Develop a strategic growth plan to enhance the foundation’s presence in the Tri-Cities and Kearney areas. Maintain accurate donor records and manage the donor database. Demonstrate strong time management and priority-setting skills to meet goals effectively.
Program Expansion Partner with leadership to identify and execute opportunities for service and partnership expansion in the Kearney area. Strengthen referral networks by collaborating with healthcare providers, nonprofits, and community organizations.
Qualifications Associate’s degree or higher preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Proven experience in fundraising, development, or nonprofit management. Strong organizational, project management, and time-management skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of CRM databases is preferred. Experience in networking, event planning, and public speaking. Knowledge of the Tri-Cities and Kearney areas and their community dynamics is highly desirable. Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Compensation & Benefits Salary: $50,000–$55,000 per year (commensurate with experience; growth opportunities based on performance). Benefits: o Retirement plan 401(k) with matching o Paid time off o Flexible scheduling
Work Schedule & Location Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with occasional evenings and weekends for events. Location: Grand Island, Kearney, or hybrid remote.
Travel Primarily local travel during business hours; minimal out-of-area travel (less than 5%).
