Summary
As a Qualified Mental Health Associate, you will be instrumental in delivering compassionate care to individuals facing Mental Health challenges. Your core responsibilities will include participating in resident intakes, maintaining documentation. Your premium skills in crisis intervention and experience will enhance the support provided to our resident's with a focus on recovery. You will be able to contribute to fostering a safe and therapeutic environment for those in this Residential Treatment Home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and facilitate skills training sessions tailored to individual treatment plans.
- Participate in resident intakes.
- Assist residents in developing independent living, social, and coping skills.
- Monitor and document progress, reporting to the clinical team as required.
- Collaborate with other team members, including case managers and therapists, to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintain compliance with all Oregon state regulations for mental health services in an RTH setting.
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support as needed.
- Establishes, maintains, and co-facilitates a therapeutic relationship with residents served; acts as a role model by maintaining a hopeful and positive attitude and problem solving and coping with mental illness.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or G.E.D
- Must be credentialed as a QMHA in the state of Oregon. Must keep certification current throughout employment
- Must be CPR and First Aid certified on date of employment or within 60 days of employment and maintain current certification throughout employment.
- Clear criminal background check.
- No substantiated cases of abuse.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions effectively.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience in medication administration and management.
- Drivers License required
Physical Demands
The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee is occasionally required to sit, bend, squat, kneel, crawl, twist, push, pull and lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds or less as well as to frequently walk, stand, twist, reach and to do simple and power grasping. The position requires manual deviation, repetitive and dexterity and be exposed to uneven walking ground as well as Hazardous Exposure (Blood Borne Pathogens, Bodily Waste, Chemical & Infectious).
