What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Care Teacher position at GRACE Catholic School System?
Supervise and ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children at Little Saints Daycare. Enrich Little Saint’s children throughout the day through activities, meal/snack times, teaching, and working with parents. This position will be 40 hours a week for the school year(42 weeks).
Job Description
Essential Functions:
- Supervise and monitor the safety of children
- Prepare and organize snack/mealtimes for children
- Change diapers of infants and toddlers
- Organize activities and develop curriculum to expand children's knowledge and help prepare them for the next level of education
- Keep records relating to the child's day
- Provide guidance or appropriate discipline to children
- Monitor children for health, behavioral, and emotional issues and reporting these issues to the proper staff or parent
- Aide children in keeping a daily routine
- Develop and encourage age-appropriate learning activities
- Work with parents to help children reach educational and behavioral goals
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPR Certified
- Patience
- Excellent communication
- Strong understanding of child development stages
- Attentive to the needs and safety of children
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, sit, and frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk. The employee will use the hands feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally exert or lift up to 20 pounds. Successful performance requires specific vision abilities that include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision
