Job Description: Barista
Reports to: Director of Global Grounds | Global Grounds Coffee
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt | Part-time; 1-2 shifts per week
Hourly | Must be available 2-3 Sunday shifts per month
Main Responsibilities
- Opening/Closing the shop
- Greeting and taking customer orders and payments, and making drinks
- Clean and sanitize their work areas, seating areas and equipment/tools
Essential Duties
- Describing menu items and suggesting products to customers
- Servicing customers and taking orders
- Prepare beverages following recipes
- Keep the bar area clean
- Check if brewing equipment operates properly and reports any maintenance needs
- Comply with health and safety regulations
- Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items
- Handle/serve pastries, sandwiches and other food items
- Follow checklist of opening/closing responsibilities
Proficiencies Needed
- Attention to detail
- Great communication skills
- Ability to learn to operate POS system/register
- Barista experience appreciated but not required
- Weekend availability
- must be age 18 or older
- Available 2-3 Sunday shifts per week
