The below description is what we would be training the incoming candidate to do for GCS.
Grace Community School is a fast-growing Christian preschool both spiritually and with our new growth expansion. This new growth has created an opportunity for a Christian leader/educator that desires to make a difference in children’s lives on a daily basis. We are seeking a capable Director(s) responsible for the daily operations of our GCS campus.
The GCS Director is responsible to ensure a safe Christian educational environment for our students by creating a positive learning environment for students and staff alike. This includes coordinating the Abeka curriculum and complying with all local and federal Health Department regulations. Additionally, you would manage and support a complement of child care staff and manage the center’s financial affairs.
The ability to plan, organize, implement, communicate and coordinate are necessary skills to succeed in this position at GCS. You will need to be able to exercise independent judgement and decision-making authority as delegated to you in the areas of policies, procedures, child safety, and staff supervision.
The successful applicant will have demonstrable experience in managing all aspects of a child care center or preschool, as well as strong leadership skills. You should display a friendly Christian demeanor, have a love for children, and strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment for both children and teachers.
Requirements:
- Bible believing Christian with references from local church leadership.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Early childhood education experience preferred.
- Licensure is required but can be in progress.
- Ability to comply with local, state, and federal laws governing child care facilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational, problem- solving, and time- management skills.
- Friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and work ethic at all times.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe, happy, and stimulating Christian environment for children.
- Build relationships with students.
- Build relationships with caregivers/teachers/staff.
- Build relationships with families.
- Build relationships with community.
- Develop and implement program operating policies and activities as required; develop cost estimates for future program needs and maintain budget at all times.
- Plan, develop, schedule, and/or provide in-service training and evaluation of child care staff.
- Ensure that the center and staff conform to federal and state regulations/licensing requirements with needed training.
- Recruit and schedule children for the child care center; maintain accurate records on children enrolled in the program to include their development, attendance, immunization and general health; conduct program registration, and maintain appropriate files and waiting lists.
- Prepare reports for various agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of all children cared for at the center.
- Meet with parents on a regular basis to discuss the development of their enrolled children and discuss the GCS policies as needed.
- Conduct marketing campaigns, maintain public relations with parents, prospective clients; universities, colleges, or community colleges.
- Oversee ordering and maintaining supplies and equipment for the center.
- Prepare and maintain administrative reports and records of the child care center; record all fee payments and prepare billing, late payments and follow-up actions when necessary.
- Basic understanding of statistical and budget status (income and expenses) reports to develop and maintain sound financial status of program; analyze problems in these areas and make recommendations to resolve them or take corrective action.
- Assist child care center staff in preparing for and presenting early childhood programs and activities; direct the organization and follow-up of special activities such as off-campus field trips; assist as necessary with duties of instructional assistants.
- Ensure that problems encountered by staff are resolved; alter policies or procedures to ensure smooth operation of program.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a child care environment but is based in an office and classroom primarily. The position will interact with children in early learning classrooms daily.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Customer Service background
Business & Management background
5 years of relevant child care experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and / or Educational Administration preferred.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Must be able to successfully clear FBI Fingerprint background check

Salary/Rate of Pay:
The earning potential will largely depend on the performance of the Director and of the school. There is a base rate and a bonus structure that is based on the organizational and financial success of GCS.
Bonus potential: (based on health & safety standards, Health Department visits, student retention, and profitability)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
