Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Grant Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to secure funding for our programs and initiatives. The Grant Writer will play a crucial role in supporting our mission through effective grant management and program development.
Duties
- Research potential funding opportunities from various sources, including government agencies, foundations, and corporations.
- Write compelling grant proposals that clearly articulate project goals, objectives, and expected outcomes.
- Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary information for proposal development.
- Utilize databases such as Raiser Edge to track submissions, deadlines, and funding opportunities.
- Proofread and edit proposals to ensure clarity, accuracy, and adherence to funder guidelines.
- Develop program descriptions and budgets in alignment with grant requirements.
- Maintain organized records of all grant-related documents and communications.
- Provide reports on grant progress and outcomes as required by funders.
Experience
- Proven experience in proposal writing, particularly in the nonprofit sector or related fields.
- Strong technical writing skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
- Familiarity with program development processes and fundraising strategies.
- Proficient in research methodologies to identify potential funding sources.
- Experience using databases for tracking grants and fundraising efforts is preferred.
- Excellent proofreading skills with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
