Kids Ministry Associate Director Job Description
Grace Fellowship Church is prayerfully searching for our next Kids Ministry Associate Director to join our Kids Ministry team. The ideal candidate will be a Jesus follower with a passion for sharing the gospel, as well as a proven track record of success in Kids Ministry or a closely related role.

The Role
The Associate Director (AD) assists the Directors in Kids Ministry to ensure that ministry for kids ages 0 year to 5th grade and their families are done with excellence helping them Know God, Know the Bible and be able to share their faith. The AD is to build relationships with staff, leaders, kids, and families. The AD is to assist with the planning, development, and implementation of all things Kids Ministry, with the specific mantle of partnership with directors for the coordination, leadership, and execution of large group programs which includes but is not limited to weekly Sunday large groups, mid-week group, Christmas Eve Family Service, and VBS.
Responsibilities
- Encourage and support kids, leaders, and families through ongoing connection with cards, calls and emails (Be relational)
- Assist with the planning, leading, and implementing of all large-scale programming
- Take leadership of large group Sunday morning; lead, recruit, communicate, coordinate, train, and equip leaders for large group Sunday morning which includes large group teachers, worship leaders, and tech volunteers
- Take leadership of special events; lead, recruit, communicate, coordinate, train, and equip leaders for large group big events such as Christmas Eve and VBS which includes large group teachers, worship leaders, skit/play participants
- Create ongoing, age appropriate UPG resources in collaboration with Missions ministry
- Create and lead alongside directors a mid-week kids program
- Create strong and safe ministry, keeping compliance with Safe Sanctuary guidelines
- Build community within Kids Ministry volunteers/leaders to develop ministry ownership and leadership through weekly communication and prayer time, various leader trainings, and ongoing connection

Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- College degree in early childhood development or 3-5 years of experience in Kids ministry at a church.
- A strong desire to help children develop a passion for God, with a call to Kids ministry
- Strong leadership skills that are relational, leader of leaders as well as kids
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Flexibility / adaptability / teachability
- Strong computer skills
- Some knowledge of technical aspects contributing to large group including sound, lighting, video and ProPresenter
- Detailed oriented, with strong organizational, planning, and time management skills
- Able to prioritize and multi-task; must be self-starter and have a strong work ethic
- Able to maintain confidentiality
- Able to work with diverse personalities/interests in a professional and Christian manner
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff

The Associate Director must be authorized to work in United States under Federal requirements.
