Summary
As the Director of Nursing, you will lead nursing operations and ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. This pivotal role is essential in shaping nursing practices and policies while fostering a culture of excellence in patient service.
Responsibilities
- Oversee nursing staff and manage daily operations to ensure optimal patient care.
- Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Monitor patient outcomes and quality metrics to drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to enhance patient care strategies and protocols.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and training for nursing staff to promote professional development.
- Ensure compliance with medical records management and documentation standards.
- Manage budgeting and resource allocation for nursing departments effectively.
- Act as a liaison between administration, staff, patients, and families to address concerns and improve care delivery.
Qualifications
- Must possess a postgraduate degree in nursing or a related field; or the knowledge and skills associated with an advanced degree; or a written plan to obtain these qualifications. A related field may include healthcare administration or business administration.
- Current unencumbered license to practice by the State Board of Nursing
- CPR Certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact
- Knowledge of Medicare regulations and compliance requirements is preferred.
- Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred. Experience in patient assessments, family motivations, treatment planning and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities. Prior leadership experience.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze data related to patient outcomes and implement necessary improvements.
