Grace HealthPro’s is seeking an experienced and motivated Sonographer Supervisor to lead our ultrasound team in Berlin, VT. Job Summary
The Sonographer Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the ultrasound department, ensuring high-quality imaging services, managing sonography staff, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. This role combines clinical expertise with leadership responsibilities to enhance patient care and department efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the Sonography Department, ensuring efficient workflow and quality imaging
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures (Abdominal, OB/GYN, Vascular, Echocardiography, and Small Parts) as needed
- Train, mentor, and evaluate sonography staff to maintain a high level of competency and professionalism
- Ensure compliance with ARDMS, AIUM, ACR, HIPAA, and other regulatory guidelines
- Develop and implement protocols to optimize imaging quality and patient care
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare professionals to enhance diagnostic accuracy
- Maintain ultrasound equipment, schedule maintenance, and ensure proper functionality
- Oversee department scheduling, staffing, and resource management
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and continuing education for sonographers
- Monitor patient satisfaction and implement improvements to enhance the overall experience
Qualifications & Requirements
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification required (with specialties in Abdomen, OB/GYN, or Vascular preferred)
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Radiologic Sciences, or related field
- Active Vermont state licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with PACS, RIS, and electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Ability to manage both clinical and administrative responsibilities effectively
