Description
We're looking for a Forensic Architect / Testifying Expert to join our team in Orlando, FL.
Responsibilities
- Prepare consulting agreements and set up contract summary sheets
- Assist experts with research efforts as requested by them or the division director
- Organizing case files/documents for research
- Set up electronic case files
- Prepare and/or monitor demonstrative exhibits as skill will allow
- Assist in document storage and retrieval efforts
- Participate in case marketing efforts
- Monitor fee collection efforts for cases he or she is responsible for
- Assist in maintaining the case database and case reference library
- Offer testimony (depositions, arbitrations, trial etc.) if and when it is necessary for a particular case
Required Skills
- Minimum 4 year college degree in related field of architecture/engineering and or construction or equivalent (to be determined by division director)
- Minimum 7 year experience in the architectural and/or construction fields (prior experience with similar forensic work is a plus)
- Very familiar with the design and construction process and familiar with instruments of service used within same
- Familiar with Building Codes
- Basic understanding of destructive testing procedures
- Computer literate in CAD software and three-dimensional design software such as Revit. Also literate in Word, Excel, Power Point
- Good understanding of the English language with capacity for report writing and proof reading (knowledge of other languages may be an added plus)
- Willing and capable to travel out of town on an as needed basis
- Ability to work effectively with others to meet deadlines and handle occasional stress resulting therefrom
- Licensed professional preferred
