- Supervise Intake Department: Oversee the intake department to ensure efficient processing of patient referrals, admission assessments, and document management. Provide guidance and training to staff to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards.
- Internal Clinical Administrative Work: Manage clinical documentation, ensure compliance with hospice regulations, and maintain accurate patient records. Support the coordination and documentation of patient care plans and ensure they meet organizational and regulatory requirements.
- IDG (Interdisciplinary Group) Review: Prepare for weekly IDG meetings and ensure IDG documentation is accurate and compliant.
- Clinical Audits: Conduct regular clinical audits to ensure that all aspects of clinical operations meet quality standards, patient safety regulations, and industry best practices. Identify areas for improvement and work with the clinical team to implement corrective actions.
- Claims Review: Review clinical claims to ensure they are complete, accurate, and compliant with payer requirements and hospice regulations. Collaborate with the billing department to resolve discrepancies and streamline claim submission processes.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all clinical activities adhere to state, federal, and hospice-specific regulatory guidelines, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of hospice regulations and standards.
- Collaboration with Leadership: Work closely with the clinical leadership team to address any issues, improve workflows, and enhance the quality of care. Provide support and leadership to clinical staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Quality Improvement: Support the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and clinical operations. Participate in ongoing training, education, and policy updates.
- Staff Supervision & Development: Supervise and mentor clinical staff within the intake and clinical administration teams. Provide ongoing performance feedback, support professional development, and ensure that staff have the tools and resources necessary to perform their duties effectively.
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a current and active state nursing license.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in hospice or palliative care settings.
- At least 2 years of experience in a clinical leadership or management role with a focus on administrative duties.
- Strong knowledge of hospice regulations, clinical documentation standards, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with clinical audits, claims review, and regulatory compliance in a healthcare setting.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and other clinical management systems.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher degree.
- Certification in Hospice and Palliative Care Nursing (CHPN).
- Previous experience working in a non-profit hospice organization.
