Position Summary: The Head of People and Culture serves as a contact between the HR department and the organization at large. The Head of People is responsible for coordinating all aspects of Human Resources for Grace Hospice and to assist in carrying out the policies and directives in accordance with the organizational purpose and philosophy.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related
- Outstanding ability to prioritize in a setting that is fast-paced at times
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office and comfortable learning new applications
- Proactive approach, strong work ethic and excellent coachability
- Positivity, high energy and pride in your work
Human Resources Job Duties
- Displays advanced knowledge of state and federal personnel law
- Maintains working knowledge of local, state and federal safety rules/regulations
- Displays working knowledge of company disciplinary action procedures and assists with facilitating disciplinary action procedures as directed
- Mentors/coaches supervisors/managers regarding disciplinary action procedures
- Investigates/suggests resolution for employee issues/complaints as directed
- Mentors/coaches supervisors/managers through process of dealing with employee issues/complaints, as directed
- Assists managers with development of job descriptions for their departments
- Offers suggestions for and assists with processes of recruitment/retention
- Assists/coaches managers with implementing performance evaluation system
- Displays advanced working knowledge of worker’s compensation law
- Effectively interacts with employees, supervisors, managers, insurance company and attorney regarding worker’s compensation issues
- Collects information/prepares responses to unemployment claims
- Complies documentation/coaches witness(s)/attends unemployment hearings as directed
- Maintains working knowledge of benefits rules and regulations
- Processes Payroll
- Tracking professional licensees
- Tracking employee driver’s license and auto insurance
- Maintain employee files and performs routine compliance audits
- Assists with benefits administration as directed
- Assists with risk management strategies as directed
