SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform cleaning procedures in accordance with facility policy.
- Observe waste disposal procedures in accordance with facility policy.
- Follow directions.
- Assist in the proper care and use of housekeeping equipment.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunction to supervisor.
- Report any observed area in poor repair to supervisor.
- Dispense soap, paper and other housekeeping supplies.
- Attend in-service training programs for Housekeeping employees.
- Observe infection control procedures related to the Housekeeping Department.
- Follow Resident?s Rights policies at all times.
- Follow facility safety program.
- Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality.
- Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner.
- Possess high moral and ethical standards.
- Must understand the need to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness in a nursing/retirement/adult day care center.
- Must be able to work cooperatively with fellow employees and with residents. Limited elderly resident interactions occur.
- Assume accountability for data contained in the employee?s handbook.
- Perform other related duties as directed by supervisor.
- Ability to work under inside environmental conditions and possible exposures to bloodborne pathogens, chemical hazards, and respiratory hazards.
- Assist with weather emergencies and other emergencies as directed by the Housekeeping Coordinator.
- Assist with fire or other internal or external disasters as directed by the supervisor.
- Assist in the set up and clean up of dining rooms for resident meals.
- Adheres to the Values and Expectations statement and element of the compliance program.
