Position: Church Administrator
Status: Full-Time (40 hours/week) Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Salary: Non-exempt, hourly, Commensurate based on experience

Job Summary:
As Church Administrator, you will be the heart of our church office, providing essential administrative support and fostering a welcoming environment for all who enter. Your exceptional organizational and communication skills will be crucial in managing daily operations, coordinating events, and supporting our pastor, council, and volunteers. We are looking for a proactive individual with a strong commitment to our LCMS values and a genuine desire to serve our congregation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Office Management & Communication:
- Serve as the friendly and professional first point of contact, managing phone calls, emails, and visitor inquiries.
- Maintain the church calendar, schedule meetings, and coordinate facility usage.
- Regularly attend staff meetings, and open and close the church office during official office hours.
- Manage office supplies, handle incoming/outgoing mail, and coordinate with vendors as needed.
- Manage office equipment, including usage, maintenance, and replacement, to ensure continuous and efficient operation.
- Update the digital outdoor sign with timely announcements.
- Create and distribute weekly worship bulletins and church communications (announcements, notes, newsletters, and special events notifications).
- Maintain accurate church records and databases.
- Pastoral & Council Support:
- Provide administrative support to the Pastor, including email and calendar management.
- Collaborate with the Church Council and volunteers to support church initiatives.
- Prepare reports and documents for council meetings.
- Event Coordination & Hospitality:
- Plan and coordinate church events, managing logistics and communication.
- Coordinate with volunteers and vendors to ensure successful event execution.
- Prepare refreshments and set up meeting spaces for church activities.
- Inform the congregation of upcoming events through all communication mediums.
- Technology & Communication:
- Collaborate with the Webmaster and Pastor to maintain the church website, streaming services, and social media presence.
- Provide basic IT support to staff and volunteers.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Manage background checks for volunteers and staff as required.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent (associate's or bachelor's degree preferred) is required.
- Proven administrative experience, ideally within a church or non-profit setting.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Google Suite (Drive, Email, Docs, and Sheets).
- Ability to learn and utilize church management software and other relevant technologies.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- A genuine understanding of and commitment to the mission and values of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
