Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in emergency medicine or experience in various healthcare settings, including inpatient care, clinics, or trauma centers. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by ensuring their comfort and safety.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Help clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients during daily activities.
- Monitor and record client health information, reporting any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications as prescribed and assist with medical appointments when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Support clients in meal preparation and ensure they have access to nutritious food options.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of emergency medicine practices is preferred.
- Experience working in inpatient settings, clinics, or teaching hospitals is a plus.
- Familiarity with pediatric intensive care units (PICU) or medical-surgical environments is advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively in both Level I and Level II Trauma Centers.
- Excellent communication skills to interact compassionately with clients and their families.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
