What are the responsibilities and job description for the Montessori Upper Elementary Teacher position at Grace Montessori Academy?
Grace Montessori Academy is seeking an Upper Elementary Montessori teacher in a 4th and 5th grade classroom for the 2025-2026 school year. Montessori certification preferred, but not required.
Our program is committed to a complete Montessori approach and we need a passionate and confident teacher willing to be a part of our wonderful program. GMA is a non-denominational Christian school and all employees are expected to support the Christian Montessori concepts in the classroom.
This position includes, but is not limited to:
- Demonstrate the ability to relate joyfully to children.
- Exhibit emotional maturity and stability.
- Teach and observe students in the Montessori method and curriculum in all areas of study.
- Prepare and maintain materials of classroom, including appropriate sequences of lessons.
- Prepare and execute weekly lesson plans and record student progress in an online record keeping program.
- Maintain excellent and ongoing communication with fellow cohorts, parents, and students.
- Ensure effective classroom management per the Montessori method.
- Follow all school policies and procedures.
Competitive salary and benefits. This position follows a school year calendar with operation from mid-August to early June. Optional part time hours available over summer.
