Grace Montessori is looking for a full time Primary (Pre-K) teacher to join our family!
Our Primary teacher will be responsible for guiding and facilitating the learning of young children (ages 3-6) through hands-on activities and individualized instruction, based on the Montessori philosophy, while fostering a safe and nurturing environment for their development across academic, social, and emotional areas; key duties include creating engaging lesson plans aligned with Montessori principles, observing children's progress, providing individual support, and collaborating with parents to ensure optimal learning experiences. Key responsibilities of a Primary Teacher:
- Curriculum Development:
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate Montessori-based curriculum activities across subject areas like math, language, science, and practical life skills.
- Prepare and manage Montessori materials according to established guidelines.
- Adapt curriculum to meet the individual needs of each child.
- Classroom Management:
- Create a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages independence and self-directed learning.
- Establish routines and transitions to maintain a smooth classroom flow.
- Supervise children during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Child Observation and Assessment:
- Regularly observe and document children's progress in various developmental areas.
- Utilize observation data to inform individual learning plans and intervention strategies.
- Conduct developmental assessments to identify strengths and areas for growth.
- Parent Communication:
- Maintain open communication with parents through regular conferences, updates on child development, and sharing of classroom activities.
- Collaborate with parents to support children's learning at home.
- Professional Development:
- Stay updated on current research and best practices related to early childhood education and Montessori pedagogy.
- Attend professional development workshops and trainings to enhance teaching skills.
Hours are either 7:00a-4:00p or 7:30a-4:30p daily, no exceptions.
