Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients while supporting veterinarians in various clinical tasks. This position requires a strong understanding of veterinary practices, excellent communication skills, and a genuine love for animals.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
- Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor animal patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Provide client education on pet care, nutrition, and health maintenance.
- Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including proper sterilization of instruments using aseptic techniques.
- Assist with kennel duties, including feeding, grooming, and exercising animals.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and veterinary critical care practices.
- Experience with pet grooming and handling various breeds of dogs is a plus.
- Strong skills in animal restraint techniques to ensure the safety of both animals and staff.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
