Nurse 2nd Shift

Grace Village Retirement Community is looking for Nurses (RN or LPN)

Nurse's (RN or LPN) Scope of Responsibility:  Supervise nursing personnel on assigned shifts and to assist with the delivery of excellent, loving care to all our residents.  Monitor nursing personnel in the performance of their duties and give timely relevant evaluations of their work.  Observe and assess individual resident needs in all areas, including physical, emotional, spiritual, and social and to assist in developing care plans to meet those needs.  Assist in the initial and ongoing training of nursing aid staff.  Work as a team to meet the needs of our residents and their family members in excellent customer service.  Ensure that each resident receives quality care.

  • Assist with the delivery of excellent loving care to all our residents by observing and assessing individual resident needs in all areas, including physical, emotional, spiritual, and social, and to assist in developing care plans to meet those needs
  • Maintain quality assurance of nursing documentation and records
  • Observe and assess residents’ needs, notify physicians when necessary. Receive telephone orders, note correctly, and follow through with all new orders. Transcribe all physicians’ orders accurately.
  • Make assignments of residents, duties and breaks for nursing staff.
  • Supervise all nursing personnel on shift – monitoring job duties, practices, procedures, behavior, and dress code of nursing staff.  Also counseling, disciplining staff when necessary according to the facilities employee manual.
  • Supervise or administer medications and treatments as ordered.  Chart all medications and treatments and PRN results.  Sign all medication and treatment sheets.  Order medications/treatments as ordered and check them off when they arrive.
  • Observe and assess resident’s needs, notify physician when necessary (i.e. nursing concerns, change in condition, significant weight change, any accidents or incidents involving residents, questions about any medication or treatment).  Receive telephone orders, note correctly, and follow through with all new orders.
  • Transcribe all physicians’ orders correctly.  Flag all orders for a second nurse to check and initial.

Nurse Qualifications


Nurse's (RN or LPN)  Qualifications:  RN or LPN with a current Indiana license in good standing.

Experience in Long-Term Care is a plus!

Physical Demands: stand/walk/communicate, hear, see, and use of fingers/hands constantly; sit, lift, carry objects, and pushing/pulling occasionally.

Nurse's (RN or LPN) Benefits:

  • Pay based on experience. Base pay may increase at $0.25/hour per year up to a maximum of $5.00/hour for previous experience.
  • Shift Diff of $1.50/hour for 2nd shift and shift diff of $1.00/hour for 3rd shift; and Weekend Diff of $2.00/hour on Saturdays and Sundays for all shifts.
  • Refer a nurse friend after your 90 days and receive a bonus up to $600 when they stay 90 days, conditions apply.

Full-time 2nd shifts are available. Full or part-time 1st and 3rd shifts are available.  We offer set schedules.
