Nursing Supervisor, Monday through Friday, 3p-11:30p

This is a middle management position for supervisory coverage of the Nursing Department during second shift. Responsibilities require knowledge of nursing policies and procedures, allowing independent judgement in their interpretation. The Nursing Supervisor duties include provision of managerial and clinical links between the nurse manager, and department direction in their absence, and the Health Facility Administrator.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Promote the mission, vision, and values of Grace Village
- Assist with the delivery of excellent loving care to all our residents by observing and assessing individual resident needs in all areas, including physical, emotional, spiritual, and social, and to assist in developing care plans to meet those needs
- Maintain quality assurance of nursing documentation and records
- Educate and train new nurses and evaluate their performance
- Evaluate nurses engagement and performance
- Make assignments of residents, duties and breaks for nursing staff
- Supervise all nursing personnel on shiftmonitoring job duties, practices, procedures, behavior, and dress code of nursing staff.
- Counsel and discipline staff when necessary, according to the policies and procedures of Grace Village
- Work with the floor nurse to ensure that medications and treatments are administered as ordered. Chart all medications and treatments and PRN results. Sign all medication and treatment sheets. Order medications/treatments as ordered and check them off when they arrive.
- Observe and assess residents needs, notify physicians when necessary. Receive telephone orders, note correctly, and follow through with all new orders. Transcribe all physicians orders accurately.
Qualifications:
- RN or LPN with a current Indiana license in good standing
- Current or previous long-term care experience
- Ability and desire to work second shift, Monday through Friday, 3p-11:30p
- CPR and First-Aid certification is a plus
