Job Overview
The Early Interventionist will provide developmental support to children and families in the Richland County area. This role involves working directly with children ages birth to three, helping them reach developmental milestones through a blend of instruction and family-centered services. The position requires home visits, collaboration with caregivers, and personalized support to encourage positive growth.
Duties
- Conduct home visits to assess children’s developmental needs and create individualized family service plans.
- Collaborate with families to identify strengths and areas for growth, and provide them with tools, strategies, and resources to support their child’s development.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare providers, educators, and social workers.
- Provide direct support to clients in homes and community environments.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and data collection for ongoing evaluation of intervention effectiveness.
- Educate clients and families about available resources and coping strategies.
- Support families in navigating the early intervention system and advocate for their child’s needs.
- Stay informed about current best practices in behavioral health, special education, and clinical counseling.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience working with children with developmental delays, disabilities, or special needs.
- Knowledge of early childhood development and developmental milestones.
- Ability to work independently, manage caseloads, and communicate effectively with families and interdisciplinary teams.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for supporting children and families.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel within the Richland County area.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Family & Consumer Science, or any related field.,
- At least 1 year of documented experience working with children birth to six years old.,
- Prior early interventionist experience preferred or recent & upcoming college graduate with a degree in a related field and a willingness for on-the-job training.
Nice-to-haves
- Prior early interventionist experience preferred.,
- CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification (Heartsaver, Infant & Child) preferred.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: Up to $35.00 per hour
